Powell Seminole resident, Jeffrey Don Powell, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024, in Oklahoma City.

Jeffrey, the son of Samuel and Virginia (Yahola) Powell, was born July 24, 1971, in Wewoka. He attended school in the Wewoka School system. Jeffrey was a fire fighter for the BIA. He enjoyed doing leather work; he also enjoyed reading, particularly books about gangsters, he was most interested in Pretty Boy Floyd; working out, listening to music, especially Elvis and Muscogee Hymns; but nothing was as important to Jeffrey as time spent with his family. Jeffrey “still owes Aleyah a horse”, a birthday gift they talked about for years. He always called and talked about church. He was witty, and had a nickname for everyone. He taught the boys good pick-up lines, and he always knew how to make people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Virginia; a sister, Teresa Powell; two brothers, Jamie Powell, and Bryan Powell; and two granddaughters, Nevaeh Harjo, and Alula Powell.

Jeffrey is survived by his son, Tyler Powell, of Seminole; daughters, Rachel Powell, of Chandler, Amarra Powell, of Toledo, Iowa, Aleyah Powell, of West Union, Iowa, and Chloe Powell, of Okmulgee; two grandchildren, Briella Johnson, and Mason Johnson; three sisters, Sandra Powell, of Seminole, Kimberly Powell, of Holdenville, and Michelle Powell, of Seminole; along with many other family and friends.

Casket bearers will be Timothy Powell, Cota Tebe, Jonathan Maples, Chuy Santillan Lopez, Tyler Powell, Kyron Ballard.

Honorary casket bearers will be Louis Ballard, all of his nieces and nephews.

There will be a wake service Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Tokvbvche Methodist Church in Holdenville.

Services will be Thursday, October 3, at 2:00 P.M. at Tokvbvche Methodist Church in Holdenville, with Eric Thlocco and Kevin Fox officiating. Interment will follow at the Yeager Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
