Janie Harper

Janie Rattan (Harper) entered Heaven on September 3, 2022, at the age of 98. Janie was born October 13, 1923 in Claremore, Oklahoma. She was the eldest daughter of David Martin and Biddie (Ritchson) Martin, who preceded her in death. Janie has one surviving sister, Carol Alley.

Janie married Lorenzo Rattan on May 22, 1941. Her second marriage to Orlen Rattan was March 11, 1954. Janie raised ten children: Barbara (Rattan) Arbuckle, Kathy (Rattan) King, Janet (Rattan) Comstock, Vernon and Betty Rattan, Leon Rattan, James and Donna (Rattan) McLain, Harold and Ronna (Rattan) Mclain, Dick and Linda (Rattan) Brown, Robert and Sherry (Rattan) Holder, Tony and Eloise Rattan. Later in life, Janie married J.W. Harper and a step-sister was added to the family. Rita (Harper) Ballard. Janie had 30 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, and 58 great, great-grandchildren.

Janie was preceded in death by her husbands, Lorenzo Rattan, Orlen Rattan and JW Harper; two daughters, Barbara

(Rattan) Arbuckle and Kathy (Rattan) King; five brothers, Calvin, Eldred, Bryce, Donald, Noland; three sisters, Sylvia, Marsha, Helen and Roxie.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at the Meeker Assembly of God Church. Burial will immediately follow at Gable Cemetery in Meeker. The family will accept guest from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Parks Brothers Funeral Service of Prague.
