Janet Marie Childers of Seminole, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was 68 years old.

Janet was born in Shawnee Oklahoma on September 24, 1956 to James (Dub) and Katherine Childers. Her father died in 2012 and her mom died in 2022. Her maternal and paternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles, and the father of her children also preceded her in death.

Janet was raised in Seminole, Oklahoma, and graduated from Seminole High School in 1974. While in High School she played the clarinet for 4 years, was a member of the Pep Club for 4 years, a member of FTA, sang with the Mixed Chorus Group and Glee Club. She attended Seminole Junior College on a band scholarship.

Janet was a member of First Baptist Church in Seminole, where she accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. She sang in the Church choir, taught Vacation Bible School, and taught a preschool Sunday School class.

Janet loved to travel whether to the mountains or the beach. She loved horses and before her health prevented her from doing so, loved to ride horses. She enjoyed country music, country dancing, and wearing her cowboy boots. Janet loved fast cars, especially Mustangs and Camaros. She was proud of her Italian-Irish heritage. One year her daughter nominated her in Childers

a Dove’s Beauty Contest and the photo was on a billboard in Times Square.

Janet was an organ donor. Through her generosity, she was able to help others.

Janet is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brandy and Jeremy Miner, and her son and daughter in law Chris and Hannah Dye all of Seminole. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and John Green, her brother and sister in law Jerry and Kathy Childers, and her brother Ken Childers all of Seminole. Janet has 6 grandchildren, Haley and her husband Beau Staley, Cadey Riddle and her partner Jacob Berck, Blake Presley, Dallas, Logan, and Joshua Dye and 3 great grandchildren, Stella and Major Staley and Raya Berck. She is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Janet is also survived by her best friend, Kathy Loftis-Clodfelter and her Schnauzer, Rusty.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
