James Odell Bottoms

Bottoms James Odell Bottoms of Ardmore, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 11:00 at the VA Center Nursing Care, Ardmore, OK.

He was born October 1, 1928, in Union Hill Community near Ada, OK to Thomas Luther Bottoms and Lillie Gertrude Mae (Cooper) Bottoms. Odell attended school at Union Hill near Ada OK and continued his education while serving in the U.S. Army. He was stationed several months in South Korea during the Korean War.

Odell married Lavoy Louise Tate on December 17, 1952, in Okla homa City, OK. He owned and operated Odell and Sons Salvage near his home north of Seminole, OK. Odell was a member of Highway Baptist Church at the Little Community, north of Seminole, OK.

Services will be at the Highway Baptist Church in Little Community, Ok on March 14, 2024. Seminole Nation Honor Guard will be preforming the military honors. Burial will be at the Little Cemetery, Little Community, OK.

Odell is survived by 2 daughters, Jakki Gatzke and husband Robert; Debby David and husband Bill; and 3 sons, Linny Bottoms, Tom Bottoms ad wife Diana; and Chris Bottoms. Grandsons, Michael Gatzke and Russell Gatzke, Timothy Bottoms and wife Sandra; Jimmy Shuman and wife Christy; B.J. Shuman and wife Jennifer; Zachary Bottoms and Calvin Bottoms; and Matthew Bottoms. Granddaughters are Kristy Yarbrough and husband Chris; Jamie Means and husband Scott; Michell Harbison; Jessica Marie Bottoms: September Dawn Bottoms; Keely Bottoms. Numerous Great grandsons and Great granddaughters. His Sister, Pat Wallace and husband Larry.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lavoy; his parents Luther and Lillie Bottoms; five brothers, William, Emmitt, Roy, Olen and Jack Bottoms; Six sisters, Bessie Shive, Winnie Hill, Alta Martin, Erma Sharber, Loretta Riley and Norma Underhill.
