James Dale Jones age 86, of Wewoka, passed away Monday, June 26, 2023. He was born October 1, 1936 in Wewoka, OK to the late Fred Albert Jones and Dorothy (Starkey) Jones.

He married Audrey Gammons on August 4, 1958 in Wewoka, OK and she preceded him in death on July 1, 2007.

He graduated from Spaulding High School and joined the Airforce and worked as a Radio Operator. He retired as an Airtraffic Controller for FAA. He attended Midway Baptist Church. He enjoyed leather working, gardening, working in his flower beds, being outdoors, tractors, and spending time with his grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Audrey Jones, great granddaughter, Emma Leigh, siblings, Sonny Jones, Janet Wilson, and Oakley Jones.

James is survived by his children, Daylene Blue and husband Doug of Benninton, OK, Donna Vaughn and Jerry Fent of McAlester, OK, grandchildren, Amie Rea, Alyssa Holybee, C.J. Williamson and spouse Bridget, siblings, Jackie Clayton and husband Charles of Mcloud, OK, Alan Jones and wife Shirley of Tuttle, OK, Larry Jones of Mcloud, Judi Smith of Shawnee, OK, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be from 9:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M., Saturday, July 1, 2023 and 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M., Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka, OK.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 3, 2023 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel in Wewoka, OK with Cliff House officiating. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, OK.
