Elissa Lindsay
Elissa Ganine Lindsay, life-long Seminole resident, passed away on February 27, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Elissa was born on April 30,1980 to Walter Gene Lindsay and Patrica Yahola in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Elissa was a member of the Muscogee Creek Nation. She attended Eufaula Boarding School where she graduated. Elissa was known to always have a smile on her face and be cracking jokes with everyone she was around. It was never a dull moment with Henry. Elissa loved crafting, spending time with her family and she loved her kitty cats and dogs.
Elissa is survived by one brother, Jonathan Harjo of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one uncle, Jimmy Lindsay and wife, Peggy of Oklahoma City, Ok; three aunts, Augustine Lindsay of Seminole, Oklahoma, Debbie Mitchell of Seminole, OK and Teresa Wise of Seminole, Ok; six nephews, Dakota Harjo, Aidan Cosey, Amarious Cosey, Darious Cosey, Deon Harjo and DeAndre Harris; two nieces, Alissa and Ally Jo Cosey and a host of cousins, family and friends.
Elissa was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Lindsay and Patrica Yahola; brother, Walter Gene Lindsay; sister, Clarissa Harjo and her grandparents, Lizzie and Willie (Coody) Lindsay.
Elissa will be taken to Greenleaf Missionary Baptist Church in Okemah, OK at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024 for a wake service at 7:00pm.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 02, 2024 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Ok with Rev. Kevin Fox and Rev. Houston Tiger officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery in Seminole.
Casket bearers will be David Turner, Beau Lindsay, Jimpsey Tiger, Chandler Fixico, Elijah Jones, Cody Burnett, Diomtrey Hulbutta and Simon Harjo. Honorary casket bearers will be nephews and cousins.
Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
