Donald “Duck” Fixico, 72-year-old current

Shawnee, Oklahoma resident and former Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life Saturday, October 5, 2019 at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Shawnee.  He was born August 30, 1947 in Seminole, Oklahoma to parents Oscar Fixico and Emma (King) Fixico.

Donald served in the United States Marine Corps where he earned the rank of Corporal.  He also earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device and the Vietnam Service Medal with 1* Rifle Sharpshooter Badge.  He also earned the Good Conduct Medal.

Donald married Joyce Ann Kaney Fixico in Earlsboro, Oklahoma. While Donald served in the United States Marine Corps, Joyce served in the United States Army.  She preceded him in death October 17, 1991.

Donald is survived by one son, Kelly Scott Fixico of Shawnee, Oklahoma; by two daughters, Wenayv Yates and her husband Kin-dell of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Lesley Renee Fixico and Joey Holahta of Seminole, Oklahoma; by two brothers, Robert Fixico and Rhonda Hill of Okemah, Oklahoma, James Fixico of Holdenville, Oklahoma; by two sisters, Eloise Fixico of Holdenville, and Hildean Fixico of Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Emma Fixico and by one sister, Cecilia Cameron.

A wake service is scheduled for Monday, October 7, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Graveside services with Military Honors provided by the Seminole Nation Honor Guard are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Hitchitee Church Cemetery located at 11454 NW 38510 Road in Seminole County with Eric Thlocco and Chad Smith officiating the service.

Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
