Henneha Seminole resident, Darlene Henneha, 82, passed, Saturday, November 30, 2024, in Ada.

Darlene, the daughter of Robert and Pauline (Herrod) Stewart, was born April 30, 1942, in Hollywood, CA. She attended high school in Tujunga CA, graduating with the class of 1960 at Verdugo Hills High School. She then attended Los Angeles City College, and later Wes Watkins Vo Tech in Wetumka, as well as Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. In 1986, Darlene went to work for the Creek Nation Hospital, ultimately working as a purchasing supervisor. She was a proud member of Indian Nations Baptist Church. During her membership she has served the church in many capacities; she was an adult Sunday School teacher, a preschool teacher, discipleship training director, and assistant Sunday School director. Darlene also had several assignments serving the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma; she was a general council member representing Eufaula Band, was a chairperson of the election board, secretary of the election board and chairperson for SN Enterprise. She enjoyed crocheting, and was loved and will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Pauline Stewart; her husband, Charles Henneha Sr.; a son, Lance Walker; brothers, Courtney Stewart, Joseph Stewart, and Robert Stewart; and a sister, Regina Stabler.

Darlene is survived by her son, Charles Henneha Jr., of Coweta; daughters and son-in-law, Marcheta Buckley, of Seminole, Traci and Jeremy Postoak, of Sasakwa, Roberta Walker, of Seminole, Barbara Henneha Harjo, of Holdenville, and Laura Henneha; sister and brother-in-law, Alberta and David Morrow, of Calvin; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with many other friends and family members.

Casket bearers will be Stephen Battice Jr., Aaron Chewey, Daniel Ben Buckley, Timothy Titus Buckley, Adam Beaudion, Lloyd Beaudion Jr., and Charles Henneha Jr.

Honorary casket bearers will be Randy Ahhaitty Jr., Christopher Harjo, and Jason Star.

There will be a wake service Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Indian Nations Baptist Church in Seminole.

Services will be Friday, December 6, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Indian Nations Baptist Church, with Randy Colbert officiating, interment to follow at the Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
