Cheryl (Cherry) Lynn Thompson Brooks was born January 6, 1960 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to the late Johnny and Fannie Jackson Thompson. She passed away Dec. 28, 2022. She was the eleventh of twelve children born to this union.

“Cherry” was preceded in death by both parents, son, (Quincy), 4 sisters, (Shirley, Jononne, Verletta and Vernita), and 3 brothers, (Veney, Johnny, Jr., and Larry). Cherry was the baby girl and with all of the siblings, she had no problem getting what she wanted.

“Cherry” will be greatly missed and leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Reverend Michael Brooks; daughters, Janell and Ladacia and son, Michael of Oklahoma City; 2 sisters, Portia Thompson of North Carolina and Renae Perry of Del City, OK; 2 brothers, Randall of Denver, Colorado and Winford Thompson, Tulsa, Oklahoma along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Faith Memorial Baptist Church in OKC, OK with Dr. John W. Peoples officiating. Interment will be 2:00 p.m. Monday January 9, 2023 at Westwood Cemetery in Wewoka, OK.
