Grant Charles Austin Grant, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024, at his home, at the age of 84.

Charles, the son of Henry and Viola (Doyle) Grant, was born October 26, 1939, in Durant. Charles grew up traveling the fruit harvest with his family, with Phoenix, Arizona, being home. On November 7, 1959, he married Nancy Fowler, in Phoenix, and they moved to Seminole, where he raised his family and spent the rest of his life. The love of his life, Nancy passed away at a young age due to cancer. Which left Charles to enjoy fishing, deer hunting, he liked to trade and swap, and he was a skilled shade tree mechanic and as he got older he loved mowing and helping everyone keep their places looking neat. He never met a stranger and would talk to everyone that would listen. His new love was his dog Cookie, who accompanied him everywhere when he was mowing and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy; his son, Ronnie; brothers, Eugene and Leroy; a sister, Betty White; and a son-in-law, Bill Hood.

Left to cherish his memories are son, Mike and (wife) Pamela Grant, of Wewoka, daughters, Teresa Hood, of Seminole, and Tracie and (husband) Kevin Bane, of Wewoka, son, Larry and (wife) Tracy Grant, of Seminole; grandchildren, Chad Grant, Kelly Grant Lucas, Patrick Grant, Rayna Mustain, Joey Pack, Travis Lemmings, Erica Wilkins, Kaitlyn Cheatam, Donovan Hood, Richard Parks, Steven Parks, Amy Baker, and Lori Swearingen; 27 great grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, David and Sharon Grant, of Wewoka, Bobby Grant, of Oregon, and Lawrence Grant, of Oregon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and John Pierce, of Seminole, Carol Gentry, of Nevada, Patty and David Shellito, of Oregon, Bernice and Larry Gates, of Oregon; and many other family members and friends.

Services will be Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 10:00 A.M., at Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, with Carl Whitfield officiating. Interment will follow at Little Cemetery. A reception will be at the home of Mike and Pamela Grant after the burial. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
