Brent Wade Prater, 60, passed Saturday, January 27, 2024.
With family by his side, at his home in Seminole.
Wade, the son of Gerald and Marilyn “Anne” (Broyles) Prater, was born, January 1, 1964, in Muleshoe, Texas.
Early-on, Wade grew up on his family farm near Muleshoe, Tx.
Later moving to Seminole in April of 1982.
Wade was a quadriplegic, resulting from a construction job related injury accident in Shawnee, August of 1988’.
Wade’s Mother and Father provided the best care possible for nearly 36 years within their family home.
Wade was very intuitive, wanting to know everything about the people he would meet.
Where from, how long been doing this/that, how’s the family, how’s it going with you type questions, detailed observations.
These detailed traits led Wade to be an early adopter of newer technologies.
Wade could tell you the (what/what) and the (what/ not) concerning various expectations.
Researching up & coming ideas, then taking part as they were released.
Wade was an avid general class Ham radio operator, known as N5-BWP.
He enjoyed speaking to other Ham operators, around the world.
Self-taught, Wade loved building computers and spending time with his two nephews.
Wade stated he was Saved at 13 years of age via a Billy Graham Crusade in Lubbock, Tx, praying the Sinners Prayer.
Later attending Highway Baptist Church at Little, Oklahoma.
Wade was a beautiful soul, who loved cats and Rottweilers..
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Prater in 2021’.
Wade is survived by his Father, Gerald Prater; sister and brother-in-law, Marla and Paul Hobia, of Seminole; and nephews, Trevor Hobia, of Seminole and Zachary Hobia, of Shawnee.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, at help.ifcj.org A graveside service will be Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 10:00 A.M., at Little Cemetery, with Carl Whitfield officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
