Brandon Kalicki
Brandon Kalicki was born on February 6, 1977 in Yuma, Arizona to Douglas Wayne and Susan Annette (Smith) Kalicki.
He went to be with the Lord on May 9, 2020, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 43.
Brandon spent most of his years growing up in Seminole, Oklahoma, graduating from Seminole High School in 1995.
He then attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business. It was during this time Brandon met and fell in love with Shanna Marie Payne.
The couple was wed on December 12, 1998 in Seminole, Oklahoma.
They made their first home in Norman while Brandon and Shanna completed their education.
It was during his college years that Brandon knew he was called to minister to youth. Brandon was ordained into the gospel ministry in 2004.
He accepted his first ministry position at Alameda Baptist Church in Norman. It was in Norman that they became parents to their two children, Kaitlynn and Joseph. Brandon, Shanna and family lived for a few years in Ponca City, Oklahoma, where Brandon was youth minister at Northeast Baptist Church.
In 2008 Brandon accepted a fulltime youth ministry position at the First Baptist Church in Watonga, Oklahoma.
He was recently appointed to the position of Associate Pastor. Brandon loved OU football and attended many other athletic events at the University of Oklahoma.
The OU-Texas games became an annual trip for several years with his dad, brothers and families.
Brandon loved to laugh and tell jokes and was always the center of any friend or family gathering.
He enjoyed time spent with his dad and brothers, whether it be golfing, family get togethers, or encouraging family to begin the dangerous hobby of turkey frying.
Brandon was a huge Rocky Balboa fan to the point he wrote a sermon series based on the Rocky Balboa movies.
Brandon also loved super-heroes and collected comic books for many years.
Brandon’s family was his pride and joy; he could often be found supporting his wife and children at school functions, sporting events and theatrical productions.
Brandon was involved in the community of Watonga and served as president of the Chamber of Commerce in 2012.
Brandon announced the players at the Watonga High School Basketball games and was the emcee at the Watonga All-Sports Association’s Annual Cornhole Tournament.
Brandon will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He touched the lives of so many through his ministry, mission trips and his love of the Lord.
Survivors include his wife, Shanna Kalicki, Watonga, Oklahoma; his 2 children, Kaitlynn Christine Kalicki and Joseph Charles Kalicki all of the home in Watonga; father, Doug Kalicki and wife Elizabeth of Norman, Oklahoma; brothers, Greg Kalicki and wife Louise of Newcastle, Oklahoma and Jeff Kalicki and wife Beth of Lithia, Florida; his father and mother-in-law, Bill and Karen Payne of St. Louis, Oklahoma; his sisters-in-law, Shelly Goodmanson and husband Doug of Cashion, Oklahoma; and Sherry Walton and husband Johnny of Ada, Oklahoma; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Brandon was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Kalicki; his maternal grandparents, William and Avis Smith; his paternal grandparents, Walter and Josephine Kalicki; and his nephew, Jake Kalicki.
