Billy Don “BD” Sipes, 72, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at his home in Wagoner.

BD, the son of Billy and Loeva (Williamson) Sipes, was born April 12, 1952, in Hobart. A home builder by trade, BD owned and operated Sipes Construction. He enjoyed collecting coins and knives, and antiquing. When BD’s health no longer allowed him to build, he continued with smaller projects around the house, he loved fixing things. He enjoyed fishing and going on hunting trips with his brothers and dad when he was younger. BD enjoyed watching movies, especially old westerns and you would be hard pressed to find a Gunsmoke that he hadn’t watched, but there was nothing as important to BD as his time spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Donny Sipes; a brother, Bobby Dean Sipes; and a niece, Shelly Robertson.

BD is survived by his daughters and son-inlaw, Susan Lunsford, of Wewoka, and Mandi and Troy Childers, of Seminole; grandchildren, Kylor Childers, of Seminole, Sipes Carson Childers, of Seminole, Morgan and husband, Adam Farani, of Seminole, and Hunter Lunsford, of Wewoka; some great grandchildren; brother and sisterin- law, Ronnie and Debbie Sipes, of McLoud; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Warren Ramsey, of Wagoner; and many nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends.

A graveside service will be Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, with Pastor Dan Factor officiating. Services are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole.
