Barbara Martin

Barbara Pauline Martin of Seminole, Oklahoma passed away on January 23, 2022 at Seminole Care Center, at the age of 81. Barbara was born on September 20, 1940, in Norman, Oklahoma to Selma Bishop Bruce and William Harvey Bruce. Barbara married Hurshel Martin in 1965. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2005.

Barbara retired from Blue Bell, worked at Pioneer Nursing Home and The Seminole Producer. Barbara was a caregiver of her family. Her grandkids were the apple of her eye. Her biggest honor was to watch her grandkids play sports, and she made sure they knew she was there by her cheering. Barbara was also an OU Sooners fanatic.

Preceding Barbara in death was her parents; husband; brothers, John, Vandle, Jimmy and Jerry Bruce; her sister, Wanda Phillips; grand daughter Shannon Cushing; and nephew, Justin Phillips.

Barbara is survived by one brother, Larry Bruce and wife Carolyn of Seminole; son, Jerry Martin and wife Kelly of Seminole; daughters, Linda Michelle Martin and spouse Frank Bardaro of Oklahoma City, and Annette Mott and husband Todd of Kalispell, Montana; grandchildren, Jace and Jaxson Martin, Matt Martin and wife Amber, Bryson and Baylon Martin, Stephanie Reid, Jessica Cushing, Kimberli Carter, and Brandon Carter; two great grandkids, Amelia and Roman Carter; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing of the body and greeting of family on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Swearingen Funeral Home. A graveside memorial will take place on Saturday, February 5th 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Little Cemetery.
