Anita Harjo

Anita Marie Harjo, 61 year old Shawnee, Oklahoma resident, passed away November 30, 2020 in Shawnee.

She was born August 7, 1959 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to parents Legus Harjo Sr. and Hattie Mae (Lindsey) Harjo.

She graduated from Butner High School in 1977.

She married Frank Harjo Sr. on September 17, 1977.

She was employed as a receptionist for the Sac and Fox Nation.

Left to cherish Anita’s memory are her husband Frank of the home in Shawnee, her sons; Frank Harjo, Jr. of Coweta, Oklahoma and Jason Harjo of Shawnee, Oklahoma, her brother; Legus Harjo, Jr., sisters; Rita Maples, Janis Dawson and Sheila Bannon and 3 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Darrell Glenn Harjo.

Viewing for Anita will be from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3 and Friday, December 4 at Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Little Quarsarty Church with Fred Lindsey and Eddie Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at the Lindsey Family Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
