Alvin Derl Williams, 82, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away, Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at his home.

Alvin was born March 4, 1937 in Tribbey, Oklahoma to Alvin L. Williams and Texas Mae (Johnson) Williams.

After high school, Alvin graduated from Murray State College. He worked for over thirty years for OG&E Electric Company. He started with OG & E as a meter reader and worked his way up to Yard Foreman, retiring in 1996.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army, as a sergeant during the Berlin Crisis from 1959 until 1964.

Alvin loved camping, dancing, water sports, watching western movies, Western TV shows and hanging out with friends; but most of all, he loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife; Earlene Williams of the home, daughter; Cynthia Barnes Rimer of Bowlegs, Oklahoma, his sister; Dorothy Miller of El Paso, Texas, five grandsons; Kyle Barnes, Riley Marquis and Amelia, Sayer Marquis and Grace, Scout Sleigh and Seth Sleigh, two granddaughters; Savannah Sleigh and Summer Barnes, two great granddaughters; Elizabeth Mae Seigried and Tillie Ann Marquis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Texas Mae Williams, his sister Norma Johnson and brothers; Max, Hilmer and Walter.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Harvey Road Baptist Church, with Rev. Russel Vicars and Rev. Carl Whitfield, officiating. His cremains will be buried at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma is in charge of arrangements.
