LaWanda Joy Knapp

LaWanda Joy Knapp age 80, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 at home in Prague, Oklahoma. She was born December 11, 1942 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to the late Marvin Gantt and Helen (Morphis) Gantt.

She graduated from Wewoka. She worked as a bus driver for Wewoka Public Schools for many years. She enjoyed fishing, outdoors, singing, cooking, driving the school bus, going to church and spending time with her family.

LaWanda is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Eunice Bailey, and James Gantt.

She is survived by her children, JuanEllen Salter and husband Peter of Prague, OK, Kent Knapp and wife Cindy of Quitman, AR, grandchildren, Timothy Green, Becky Bacarella, Brittany Salter- Shridan, Cristian Molett, Brock Salter, Lance Salter, 6 great grandchildren, siblings, Rick and Mary Gantt of Wewoka, OK, Myrna Minter of Missouri, Charles Gantt of Texas, bestfriend Linda Hoover of Holdenville, OK, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be from 2:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M., Saturday, April 8, 2023 and 9:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M., Monday, April 10, 2023 at Stout-Phillips Funeral Home in Wewoka, OK.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at First Baptist Church in Wewoka, OK with Pastor Tim Emmons officiating and Pastor Nathan Howard assisting. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, OK.
