Read moreThe northern part of Seminole County is included in an elevated fire risk alert that was issued by the Norman office of the National Weather Service for today (Tuesday, Feb. 27). The report states fire weather conditions were expected to become near-critical in an area from Enid south to just west of Oklahoma City and then southwest towards Altus. A critical fire risk area that may turn in to a red flag warning stretches from Woodward east to Weatherford, southwest to Clinton and continuing southwest into Texas. This weather watch is due to persisting dry and warm air and very gusty west-southwest winds.
