Ralph Morrison
Ralph Lee Morrison, 72, longtime Seminole, Oklahoma resident, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020 in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Ralph was born July 17, 1947 in Dallas, Texas , to Malcolm Lee Morrison and Edna Virginia (Chester) Morrison and was raised in Amarillo, Texas and graduated from high school from Tascoca and attended West Texas State University and the University of Dallas.
Ralph was the owner and president of American Petroleum & Mineral since 1969 and the American Well Service Company in Seminole. The American Well Service received the 2010 Service Company of the Year award. Ralph retired in February 2014.
He enjoyed drag racing, in which he received numerous drag racing awards. He loved fishing, classic cars, hanging out with Labrador dog “Bailey”, hanging out at the lake with family having a cold beer.
Ralph also served in the United State Marine Corp Reserves.
He was a board member for the Bowlegs Water District and active in the Boy Scouts of America, until the age 18.
Ralph married Rugenia (Gina) (Rawls) Morrison on October 17, 1979 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
They have been happily married for 40 years.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife Gina Morrison of the home, his son Robert Morrison of Austin, Texas, his daughter Amber Morrison of Austin, Texas, his beloved black Lab, “Bailey”. his twin brother; Ronald Lee Morrison and his wife Debbie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, his brother-in-law, Butch Rawls of Holdenville, Oklahoma, his sister-inlaw Darla Rogers and her husband Dock Rogers of Crane, Texas, two grandchildren Austin and Drew Morrison, five great grandchildren; Noah, Shanna, Peyton, Luke, and Ellen Rose.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephews; Allen and Alma Morrison of Yorba Linda, California, Shane Morrison, of Billings, Montana, Curt Rawls of Edmond, Oklahoma and Millard and Ali Epley of Ada, Oklahoma.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Deborah.
The funeral service was held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at the Swearingen Funeral Home Chapel in Seminole, Oklahoma, with Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating.
Burial followed at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, east of Seminole on Highway 270.
Casket bearers were Davey Davis, Eric “Rook” Rawls, Lary “Herd” Herdlitchkia, Allen Morrison, Corey Wilson, Shane Rawls, Millard Epley and Derrick McCormick.
Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole was in charge of Mr. Morrison’s arrangements.
